Adam & Eve Week 2
Welcome to our second week of crafts, and interactive learning! This week we are focusing on the story of Adam and Eve.
Books of the Bible Focus of the Week: Genesis 3
Key Points of this weeks Bible Story of Adam and Eve:Creation of Adam
- Creation of Adam
-
God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and Adam became a living being.
- Garden of Eden
-
God planted a beautiful garden in Eden, filled with trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
- Creation of Eve
-
Seeing that it was not good for Adam to be alone, God created Eve from one of Adam’s ribs to be his companion.
- The Command
-
God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, warning them that if they did, they would surely die.
- The Temptation
-
The serpent, who was crafty, deceived Eve into eating the fruit from the forbidden tree. She then gave some to Adam, who also ate it.
- The Consequences
-
Their eyes were opened, and they realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together to make coverings. God confronted them, and they admitted their disobedience.
- The Punishment
-
God pronounced consequences for the serpent, Eve, and Adam. The serpent would crawl on its belly, Eve would experience pain in childbirth, and Adam would have to toil for food. They were also banished from the Garden of Eden.
- Hope and Redemption
-
Despite their disobedience, God continued to care for Adam and Eve, making garments for them from animal skins and promising future redemption.

Parental Tips for this week:
- Simplify the Language
-
Explain the story in simple terms, focusing on the key lessons of obedience, choices, and God’s love. Emphasize the importance of listening to God and the consequences of disobedience.
- Use relatable analogies
-
Compare the story to everyday situations your child can understand, such as following rules at home or school. Relate the consequences faced by Adam and Eve to what happens when rules are broken.
- Highlight Gods forgiveness
-
Emphasize that although Adam and Eve made a mistake, God still loved them and took care of them. Teach that everyone makes mistakes, but God’s love and forgiveness are always available.
- Engage with Interactive activities
-
Create activities that reinforce the story, such as a craft making a Garden of Eden scene or a role-play exercise. This helps children remember the story through hands-on learning.
- Discuss the importance of choices
- Talk about the importance of making good choices and the impact they have on our lives and others. Use the story to illustrate how choices have consequences.
Discussion Questions of the week:
Every week we offer discussion questions for you to ask your child as you read through the story of the week. For this week, below are questions to ask your children throughout the week on the story of creation.
-
Why do you think it’s important to listen to God’s instructions?
-
Can you think of a time when you didn’t follow a rule? What happened?
-
How do you feel when you make a mistake? How does it feel to be forgiven?
-
What do you think the Garden of Eden looked like? Can you draw or create it?
-
What are some good choices you can make every day? How do they affect you and others?
